today on the 2009 Best in the Desert “Vegas to Reno”
event, held in August of 2009. Taking the highway from Vegas
to Reno is a leisurely 7 hour drive of about 450 miles - but
not Folks’ way - it’s now known as the TSCO “Vegas
to Reno” - The Long Way!! .. and it’s approximately
1,000 miles one way!" BITD

Kevin
Sacalas and Co-driver Doug Williams both from Riverside California,
have won the "Best In the Desert" race for Team
Viking Offroad! They are now qualified for the upcoming King
of the Hammers race taking place next year in Johnson
Valley California.

to Kevin, Doug and the support team for this amazing acomplishment.
With
the help of several friends and several great sponsors, Kevin
designed and built a race buggy for the KOH race.....with
some desert racing features added for the higher speed sections.
This buggy was made from scratch in just 4 short months.
It takes a lot of man....and woman power to pull this off,
we had about 8 people and 3 chase rigs as race support.
