The Safety Thimble isolator is used to protect fairleads (hawse & rollers) from metal to metal contact that can scratched & damage the fairleads. If winchlines are not properly installed under vehicle load, or you forget to tighten the thimble against the fairlead, it has a tendencey to loosen up a bit & scratch up the fairlead. This is a simple & inexpensive solution to provide a cushion between parts.
